๐Ÿšจ ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ US durable goods orders beat at 1.8%, but core orders miss

  • ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ September durable goods orders rose 1.8% on the month, above the 1.5% newswires expected (other estimates ran up to 1.9%), after 0.1% in August
  • ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ Excluding transport, orders rose 0.5% against 0.6% expected

FO view: A mixed print: the headline beat is transport-led while core orders undershoot, so it adds little to the case for a firmer US economy, though strong core shipments help third-quarter business investment.

Not investment advice.
